On August 12, 2026, 黑料正能量 hosted a virtual Pride Season event for employees with invited guests from Rainbow Veterans of Canada.聽
This not-for-profit organization represents 2SLGBTQI+ veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and individuals impacted by the聽. The event was also open to participants from DND, allowing employees from both organizations to learn more about a troubling chapter in Canada鈥檚 history.
The LGBT Purge, which ran from the 1950s to the 1990s, was the systematic identification and expulsion by the Government of Canada of 2SLGBTQI+ members of the military, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the public service.
Three veterans who lived through the LGBT Purge spoke candidly about the discrimination and targeted harassment they had faced, and the lasting impacts that treatment had on their lives.
After sharing their stories, the speakers answered questions from the hundreds of viewers who joined the event from across the country. Several 黑料正能量 offices organized viewing events, where larger groups could tune in together.
